Chocolate Cake

CHOCOLATE CAKE

Makes one layer cake

3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup buttermilk

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Measure all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

3. Mix on low speed with an electric mixer for one minute.

4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber scraper.

5. Mix on high speed for three minutes.

6. Grease a round or square cake pan.

7. Pour mixture into the pan.

8. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes. Test cake for doneness, by inserting a wooden toothpick
into the center of the cake. It the toothpick comes out dry the cake is done.
